I've been watching quite a number of korean dramas lately and so far, Thank You has been the best! Spoilers ahead, so those who are currently watching this drama, its best if you do not read my post. =D
It is so heart wrenching to watch all the villagers avoiding her and even wanting to chase them out of the island. Yes, they may be afraid that the disease will spread to them but Dr Oh and the nurse have time and again told them that AIDs is not that easily contracted. They do not need to go to the extent of wrecking their house and throwing stones at poor Bom. Oh talking about that, I was very touched by Seok Hyun's mother's action. All along I was very annoyed with her and even hated her. But now, I'm viewing her in a different light. I guess this drama really show us how a person is never completely bad. Just like her own son and even Gi Seo. In the beginning Gi Seo was so hot-tempered and everything. But now, all his little actions melt my heart (the way he placed Young Shin and Bom's hand together, the way he hugged Young Shin when she was ill, the way he checked her temperature and pulse before he went out, the way he always have a way with Bom). He is really like her Guardian Angel.

This is also an extremely heart warming drama at the same time. For such a young woman like Young Shun to take up such heavy responsibilities, it is truly something worthy of respect. It was extremely touching to watch the white lies Young Shun, Gi Seo and even Seok Hyun told just to protect Bom's "Beautiful World". Bom, too, displayed qualities that many normal adults would never be able to. Despite her young age, she knows how to put others before herself. She certainly was upset when all the islanders started avoiding her but she was never angry with them. Instead, she was so afraid that she would spread the disease to others and didn't want to be in close contact with others even her own mother and pet dog. It is really sad to see such a pure-hearted, kind, warm, and beautiful young child have such an illness.
As I watch from episode 1 to 16, especially at those poignant scenes, an emotion I never experience before this drama would rise up in me. My heart aches so much for the characters, esp Bom. It feels like so if something really heavy is resting on my heart. My hands would even have funny tingling sensations.
Yes, this is what makes Thank You stand out from other dramas. I absolutely love how the drama develops slowly, realistically and plausibly, and how believable the relationship between all the people is. Watching Thank You sometimes makes me forget that they are just figments of the writer's imagination, and that they could be real people living somewhere in this world, feeling the same pain, hate, love and agony as the rest of us do.
Thank You is definitely a must watch drama and its no wonder each of its main cast got an award at the 2007 MBC Drama Awards. Top Excellence Award, Actress - Gong Hyo Jin Miniseries Golden Acting Award - Jang Hyuk Best Child Actor - Seo Shin Ae I just can't get enough of Jang Hyuk. I loved him since I first saw "Success Story of Bright Girl" and then "Volcano High" after. Its been awhile since I saw any of his works because he had to serve his mandatory military training. He got such an amazing body especially his abs. Too bad, he is getting married to dancer Kim Yuh Jin. The couple is planning to tie the knot in June 2008 and not only that, Kim Yuh Jin is expecting to deliver a baby in February. Wow.. Getting married straight away after she give birth. She's gonna whip herself into shape in time for the wedding.
